BJC 201 Diversity Session Focuses on Success

June 17, 2021 - The BJC 201 program this morning focused on how to successfully work on BJC design and construction projects. Among the 78 participants were minority and women owned businesses (M/WBEs) specializing in design & architecture, engineering and construction.

Greg Mohler, BJC Vice President, Construction, kicked off the session, sharing BJC's desire to continue to improve the diversity & inclusion program on Campus Renewal Project, as well as the importance of relationship building among prime contractors and subs.

Following Mohler's remarks, Don Robert, BJC director of construction, updated the group on the number of projects BJC has restarted since pausing them in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Ralph Powell, McCarthy Building Co., followed with an overview of Campus Renewal bid packages and outreach to M/WBEs.

The majority of the forum was devoted to "How to be Successful on Large, Complex Projects" presented by Marvin Johnson of Construction Management Partners. You can see and download the presentation here.
