For low-risk birthing patients, there are several reasons why one may choose to have their pregnancy care provided by one of our midwives. As certified nurse midwives, they:
have extensive medical training in women’s health, providing pregnancy care and delivering babies
encourage you to be an active participant in your care. They will consider your needs and goals throughout conception, pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period.
practice a holistic approach to your care, focusing on natural processes, mental wellness, education and preparation
schedule more time for appointments so you can connect, ask questions and learn. Often prenatal appointments provide:
advice on proper nutrition and exercise

education about the prenatal period, labor process and beyond
give you control over your birth plan, providing more options for your birthing experience
stay by your side throughout the process providing emotional and physical support
